Alto Metals shallow high-grade Orion results extend Lord Nelson gold footprint to more than 1-kilometre

Alto Metals Ltd (ASX:AME) has received further shallow high-grade gold results from Orion discovery which extend the mineralised footprint of Lord Nelson deposit within the Sandstone Gold Project in WA to more than 1-kilometre.

Results of up to 12 metres at 4.8 g/t from 84 metres have been received from a further 11 reverse circulation (RC) holes for 2,132 metres at the new Orion lode discovery, 200 metres south of the Lord Nelson pit, as well as beneath the pit.

The step-out results from Orion Lode also include 4 metres at 4.1 g/t from 28 metres with another hole returning 12 metres at 1.2 g/t from 68 metres and 8 metres at 1.3 g/t from 84 metres.

Infill drilling beneath the Lord Nelson pit returned 8 metres at 4.1 g/t from 208 metres.

Alto managing director Matthew Bowles said: “These latest results highlight the continuity of shallow, high-grade mineralisation at the new Orion Lode.

“And the presence of the high-grade shoot within a much larger mineralised envelope, up to 50 metres thick, indicates the presence of a large gold mineralised system.

“We are excited by what we are seeing at Lord Nelson and, with the level of drilling and exploration activity planned to increase in the coming weeks, shareholders can look forward to more results as we test a number of possible Lord Nelson repeat lodes along the 3-kilometre-long Lords corridor”

A total of about 5,500 metres of RC drilling of the planned 10,000-metre program has now been completed since drilling commenced in early July, with another 2,000 metres expected to start in the coming weeks.

The companys comprehensive exploration program is testing the entire 3-kilometre Lords Corridor and a number of regional targets within the 800 square kilometres Sandstone Gold Project.

  • 17 metres at 3.5 g/t from 200 metres, including 4 metres at 11.6 g/t from 211 metres; and
  • 28 metres at 3.1 g/t from 228 metres, including 12 metres at 5 g/t from 244 metres.
