Loose Women panellist Janet Street-Porter has ripped into Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice during todays episode of the ITV chat show, claiming that the sisters should not be classed as members of the royal family.
Appearing alongside co-stars Coleen Nolan, Brenda Edwards and Kelle Bryan, Janet and her fellow loose ladies discussed the news that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are spending £2.4 million of public money on renovating Frogmore Cottage.
Feisty journalist Janet wasnt too fussed over the amount of cash being spent doing up Meghan and Harrys marital home, saying, “I dont think its much money in the global scheme of running the royal family.”
The 72-year-old media personality then went on to declare to the panel that she would like to see the number of royals reduced, suggesting Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice should be removed from the family.
She said, “Id like to see the royal family slimmed down so there wasnt Beatrice and Eugenie and all these other ones, all the peripheral ones.”
When asked if she believes they dont have the right to be called royal, Janet said: No. Not really. No, theyre royal by bloodline.”
Princess Beatrice, 30, is the eldest daughter of the Queens son, Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York.
She is ninth in line to the throne, while her 29-year-old sister, Princess Eugenie is tenth in line.
