Ability Links have hosted a carers and friends morning tea and fun get together to recognise the contribution made by unpaid carers in the community. About 14 carers, past carers and their friends attended the Bowling Club last Thursday for a "lovely social morning". Event Organiser Wendy Beetson said it was an enjoyable morning to recognise and show appreciation of the generous and sometimes thankless work of some of our carers in the shire. READ ALSO: Those who attended were treated to games including scattegories, morning tea and were treated to Ability Links' community drums. "I surprised everyone by bringing along the community drums for entertainment," she said. "We formed a drum circle around our table and all enjoyed participating in drumming, learning rhythms and sending drum beats echoing around the Bowling Club." Ms Beetson said she had great feedback, with carers keen to have future get togethers.
