CentaCare have changed their name to CatholicCare Wilcannia-Forbes as of July 1, 2018.
CEO Anne-Maree Mioche said it is an operational name change as the organisation increases its capacity to meet the growing need servicing 52 per cent of western NSW.
“There is no change to our mission or practice, we will continue to provide high quality services to all families and individuals who are in need across the diocese,” Ms Mioche said.
“We hope this change will convey our programs and services are an expression of the mission of the Catholic Church to care for all those who are vulnerable, disadvantaged and in need of support,” she added.
Last year the mision provided more than 5000 individual services and activities, as well as over 1000 group events and supported 4000 families through our 15 offices across the western NSW diocese.
“Unfortunately the level of need in the Wilcannia-Forbes Diocese is still very high and we will continue to meet as much of this as possible,” Ms Mioche said.
The name change means a transition to an independent legal entity but it remains a charitable organisation with tax deductible certification.
